Icy: Defect Tracking & Test Case ManagementHardware Requirements: Any current hardware is more than adequate for Icy's demands. Our demo server runs on a single machine with dual 533MHz Celeron CPUs and 256MB of RAM on a 128kbps DSL uplink. Icy is very light when it comes to resource consumption. If you are going to build a system for Icy, you'll get more bang for your buck buying two or three hard drives so you can isolate SQL Server's data and log files on separate devices or IDE busses. RAM never hurts either. Icy can run on a single server or you can separate the IIS and SQL Server applications onto separate boxes as your needs grow. Software Requirements: In addition to the licensing costs of Icy, you'll need separate licenses for Windows 2000 server, which includes IIS 5 and Microsoft's SQL Server 2000. Unfortunately These licenses are not available as a bundle with Icy. SMTP Email Support: An SMTP server is required for delivery of bug email notifications. We use Sendmail on Linux, but any SMTP server can be configured to relay email from Icy. Web Browsers: At present, we only support current versions of Internet Explorer and Mozilla varients. We make every attempt to be W3C HTML4.1 compliant, but only have time to test on the above two browsers. Graphic Reports: We advocate the use of MRTG as a graphing tool and have provided an interface specifically for it. |
